Experienced Residential HVAC Contractor for Desert and Valley Homes

San Bernardino County is the largest county in the contiguous United States, and its homes sit in very different settings. B2F Heating and Air focuses on two of them: the High Desert around Victorville, Adelanto, and Barstow, and the Inland Valley around Fontana and nearby cities.

Working in both regions changes how we approach a job. The equipment, insulation levels, and energy code requirements that suit a desert home aren’t always the right fit in the valley. When you call, we start with where your home is and how it’s built, then recommend repairs or equipment that match those conditions.

  • Residential service in High Desert and Inland Valley communities
  • Equipment recommendations matched to your home’s climate zone
  • Residential HVAC repair, replacement, and maintenance across our service area
Our Services

Residential HVAC Services Throughout San Bernardino County

AC Installation, Maintenance & Repair in San Bernardino County

Federal refrigerant rules have changed what goes into a new air conditioner. Most new central systems now use lower-impact refrigerants such as R-454B or R-32, while existing R-410A systems can still be serviced.

Heating Installation, Maintenance & Repair in San Bernardino County

A thermostat that's miswired, poorly placed, or incompatible with your system can look like a heating failure. Our heating services in San Bernardino County include checking thermostat wiring and settings first, then testing the heat source, blower, and controls.

Furnace Services in San Bernardino County

A straightforward furnace replacement often takes about a day. Projects can take longer when they involve new venting, a change in fuel type, ductwork changes, or a different equipment location.

HVAC Maintenance & Repair in San Bernardino County

Buying a home is a good time to find out what condition its heating and cooling system is in. An HVAC inspection in San Bernardino County gives new homeowners a baseline: equipment age, refrigerant type, duct condition, and any repairs that should come first.

Boiler Services in San Bernardino County

Boilers and furnaces both heat a home, but they work differently. A boiler heats water and circulates it through radiators, baseboards, or radiant tubing, while a furnace heats air and pushes it through ducts. Boiler heat tends to feel even and quiet, while a furnace heats a room faster and can share ductwork with central air.

Ductless Mini Split in San Bernardino County

Ductless systems carry two efficiency ratings: SEER2 for cooling and HSPF2 for heating. Comparing both helps you see how a mini split will perform year-round, not just in summer. Most models use inverter-driven compressors that adjust speed to match demand instead of cycling fully on and off.

Air Duct Installation & Repair in San Bernardino County

Adding a room, finishing a bonus space, or opening up a floor plan can leave your existing ductwork out of balance. New spaces may need their own supply runs, and many homes need added return air paths so air can flow back to the system.

Heater Services in San Bernardino County

Wall heaters need clear space around them to operate safely. Keep furniture, curtains, and stored items away from the front and sides of the unit, following the clearance listed by the manufacturer. Our heater service in San Bernardino County includes checking that clearance.

How We Adapt HVAC Service Across the County

California's energy code divides the state into 16 climate zones, and the parts of San Bernardino County we serve fall into two of them. That affects which equipment makes sense and which code requirements apply to your project.

High Desert Homes in Climate Zone 14

Victorville, Adelanto, Barstow, and Hesperia sit in Climate Zone 14, which covers California's high desert. Homes here need equipment that handles both serious cooling loads and real heating demand. For these homes, we focus on sizing for both seasons, durable outdoor equipment, and well-sealed ductwork.

Inland Valley Homes in Climate Zone 10

Fontana, Rialto, San Bernardino, and nearby valley cities fall within Climate Zone 10. Cooling usually drives equipment decisions here, while heating needs are lighter. That often opens the door to heat pumps and high-efficiency cooling equipment.

City and County Permits

If your home is inside a city, HVAC permits typically come from that city's building department. Homes in unincorporated communities, such as Spring Valley Lake, Oak Hills, or Bloomington, generally go through San Bernardino County instead. We'll tell you which agency handles your project and what the permit process involves.

San Bernardino County HVAC Contractor FAQs

The price depends on the furnace's size, efficiency rating, and fuel type, along with how much venting, gas line, or ductwork needs to change. A like-for-like replacement usually costs less than a project that moves the unit or switches from gas to electric. Because those factors vary so much from home to home, we provide a written estimate after seeing your current setup. That way, the number you get reflects the real work involved.
Many furnaces last somewhere around 15 to 20 years, though some fail sooner and others run longer. Regular maintenance, correct sizing, and the quality of the original installation all affect lifespan. A furnace that needs frequent repairs, heats unevenly, or shows signs of heat exchanger damage may be nearing replacement. An inspection can give you a clearer picture of your furnace's condition.
A boiler that keeps losing pressure often has a small leak somewhere in the system, at a valve, fitting, radiator, or the boiler itself. A failing expansion tank or a pressure relief valve that's releasing water can also cause it. Topping up the pressure may help in the short term, but it won't fix the underlying problem. A technician can trace the cause and recommend the right repair.
In most homes with central air, closing several vents isn't a good way to save energy. The system is designed to move a set amount of air, and blocking registers can raise duct pressure, reduce efficiency, and add strain to the blower. If certain rooms don't need conditioning, zoning or a ductless system for the rooms you use most may work better. We can look at your setup and suggest options.
If you have a heat pump, yes. A heat pump uses the outdoor unit to collect heat in winter, so it runs much like it does in summer. You may also see steam rising from it during a defrost cycle, which is normal. If the outdoor unit is covered in ice that doesn't clear, or if you have a standard AC that's running in winter, schedule a check.
